Roger Davis from the City of Rupert joined the Rotary group to share information on Rupert’s new ice rink and the provide updates on the city square project.
Roger described the ice rink to be constructed in a temporary location near Neptune Park. Other, more long term locations are being discussed including on Fremont Avenue adjacent to the Wilson Theatre.
The new rink is planned to open by Thanksgiving and will give Rupert residence the opportunity to skate through the winter months.
Roger also updated Rotarians on the progress of the Rupert Square. Phase one, which encompasses the interior portion of the square is slated to be completed in time for Christmas lighting ceremony in November.
Phase 2, covering the exterior sidewalk portions of the square remodeling is slated to be completed in time for the 4th of July parade in 2019.
