Kris Faux, the Administrator of the Historic Wilson Theatre Visits Rupert Rotary

Kris FauxKris Faux, the Administrator of the Historic Wilson Theatre joing the Rupert Rotary Group to tell us what is going on at the Historic Wilson Theatre.

Ms. Faux shared some of the history of nearly 100 year old theatre and thanked the many community donors and workers who have helped bring the theatre back to life.

Renovation began in 2000 and after 18 long years and nearly every detail of the original art and architecture has been painstakingly recreated by local artisans and craftsman.

The last project in the Wilson to replace the seating.  You can help this effort by purchasing a chair for $650.  The chair you purchase will have a plaque mounted with an inscription of your choice.

The Rupert Rotary Club welcomes Gary Schorzman

Gary-SchorzmanThe Rupert Rotary Club welcomed Gary Schorzman to speak about the latest events taking place at the Minidoka Historical Museum.

Mr. Schorzman spoke about the Museum’s efforts to resort The Russell Steam Tractor. The 24,000 lb. 18 HP tractor was built in 1908.

The goal is to raise $12,00 in order rehabilitate the tractor by 2020. Please see the flyer below for more information or to donate.

Mr Schorzman also discussed the join Minidoka Historical Society and DeMary Memorial Library effort to digitize 103 years of the Minidoka County News.

The newspaper is available now in heavy bound books. Digitizing the newspaper will allow for computerized searching and downloads.

The newspaper has been digitized through 1960, but donations are required to help complete this worthwhile project. Read more about this effort via the flyer below.

Rupert Rotary’s Barley Bash was a Great Success!

Barley BashThe Rupert Rotary club held the first annual Barley Bash Saturday August 11, 2018 at the Rupert Elks Lodge.

Over 200 attended the event and enjoyed sampling over 15 craft beers, enjoying  good food and visiting with friends.

Rupert Rotary and the Rupert Elks thanks all that volunteered their time and equipment to make the event a success.

Thanks for attending the first annual Barley Bash, we look forward to seeing you next year!

Save the Date – Annual Rotary Club Christmas Party

We are pleased and excited to announce that we will be having our Annual Rotary Club Christmas Party at The Drift Inn in Rupert on Thursday, December 4th, 2014.  We are planning on having it begin at 6 p.m.  Our club will be able to enjoy our own separate dining room and the fine food and atmosphere that they have to offer. Rupert Rotary Welcomes – District Governor, Rick Phillips

and his wife, Kerry, join us for Rotary November 12, 2014 at the
Drift Inn. Rick showed 3 short enlightening videos about the work that the
Rotary Foundation does, such as Polio Plus and pre and postnatal care to
mothers in rural Haiti. He also spoke about some of his “Rotary Moments”,
which was motivating for all of us to hear!
