The Rupert Rotary Club welcomed Ben Nelson as its featured speaker on August 22.
Ben is Rotary member from the Burley, Idaho Club. Ben is an enthusiastic Rotary proponent and shared some interesting facts about Rotary programs.
Ben discussed the Rotary Foundation which transforms donations into service projects that change lives close to home and around the world.
During the past 100 years, the Foundation has spent $3 billion on life-changing, sustainable projects.
As part of these donations Rotary International focuses on six areas intended to build international relationships, improve lives, support peace efforts and end polio. The six areas of focus are:
- Promote Peace
- Fight Disease
- Provide Clean Water, Sanitation and Heygiene
- Save Mother and Childern
- Support Education
- Grow Local Economies
- End Polio Forever
